Leadership Update

After decades of faithful service, our founders Curt and Helen Braun have stepped down from the Board. Curt poured his heart into building personal relationships with so many of you from the very beginning. His legacy remains the foundation we continue to build on today. The remainder of the original Board remains intact, including Shelley DeVault, Dale Lommasson, Peter Khoo, Xiou Xiou.

In June 2024, the Board entrusted the role of Chair to Wendi Akers, who brings a deep commitment to our mission and a clear vision for the future. We know that for some, change can feel bittersweet, and we are deeply grateful for your continued trust as we walk forward together.March Newsletter

In our last newsletter, we shared that we had 11 orphans that we needed to sponsor. So far we have gotten 9 sponsored. THANK YOU!  Your sponsorship is making a critical difference in the lives of these children.

You might ask, why do these children need a sponsor? Most of the time, when children enter foster care, they arrive with little to nothing.  Some foster parents have said they arrive with the clothes they are wearing and many times, those are worn and need to be thrown out.

Imagine welcoming a child into your home who arrives with no supplies. You must purchase every piece of clothing they need.  Enough outfits for perhaps 1 week. Shoes, socks, underwear. Not to mention school supplies. And possibly a few toys, books or games to have depending on the age of the child.

All of that costs money. Lots of money. And then you are feeding them. If you are a parent, you know how expensive that can be and then all the little costs that come up unexpectedly.

Do the foster families get government support?  Most of the time yes. But it doesn’t cover all the expenses.  Your sponsorship fills the gap.

We have 3 more children in a particular area of Ukraine that need a sponsor. Once these children are sponsored, we have more identified in other areas. Please consider sponsoring a child for $50 a month.
